Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

Since I am trying to build up my mileage, I kept this one pretty casual.  I ran on the treadmill, warming up for a minute or two just over a 10:00 min/ mile pace, then settled in at  10:00 min/ mile pace for a couple of miles eventually moving up to a 9:30 min/ mile pace by the last mile.  After my run, I joined the Group Power class as the gym, which is weightlifting utilizing a barbell as well as free weights.

I completed these four miles after walking my dogs for three miles.  My legs and chest were sore from the previous days workout at the gym.  Once I was warmed up, I felt pretty good.

This was my "Tread and Shed," at the gym.  I ran about a half mile before the class officially started.  We completed intervals on the treadmill for about a mile and a half and then took it outside for hills and more speed for 2 1/2 miles.  Overall, a good, sweaty workout.

This run was alright.  I was a bit slower than I would have liked to be, finishing in just over an hour and 6 minutes.  I have yet to find a teaching job, so needless to say, my mind tends to be elsewhere these days.

I took care of these 4 miles on the treadmill and then did some mild weightlifting after that.  I averaged about a 10 min./ mile during my run.

This was a nice 10 mile run, although it was quite toasty outside.  This run took sweating to a whole new level.  Completing this run allowed me to hit 35 miles for the week, which was a goal for me.  My goal for next week is to make it to 40 miles.
