Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

I decided to run today to allow myself to sleep in on Tuesday, meaning that I will get up at around 5:30am instead of 4:00am.  It was dry outside, but it was the coldest day that we have had thus far.  It was in the upper 30's and of course, my nose ran the whole time.  I had to slow down every mile to a walk so that I could blow my nose.  I have no idea as to my time and I am approximating the distance since I did not have my garmin with me.  It turns out that I forgot to plug it in last night after letting it dry.  I did feel good, which these days is very important to me.

This run was not what I would call pleasant.  It was nice and cool outside, but my legs felt very heavy.  Of course, I had to stop and blow my nose every mile.  It took me a while to get going.  I ran after work, which I haven't done in quite a while.  I don't know if I was just tired in general or if my legs were tired from standing on them all day.  I am going to run on Wednesday after work and see how that goes.  My time was terrible.  I was just happy to get through the miles before the sun went down.

This was a very good run.  I felt good and the weather was nice.  I was able to get the first 8 miles in at a time of 1:20:14, which I was very happy about.  This includes the fact that I still had to stop and blow my nose almost every mile.  I did have a Diet Coke this afternoon, so I do not know if the caffeine had an impact or not.

My weight of 112 pounds was post-run.

I ran 7 miles at the gym today.  It was my typical run.  I warmed up for the first mile, ran the next 5 miles at a 10:00 minute/mile pace. I finished the last mile at at about  9:50 pace, although I took it up a bit every couple of tenths of a mile.

I was disappointed that I had to run 6 miles versus 7 or 8, but I had to be at work by 7:30am for a parent/ conference meeting.  I felt good throughout my run, warming up for the first mile, running 4 at a 10:00 minute/mile pace and finishing the last mile at a 9:50 pace.

My weight of 112 pounds was post run.

I ran today in Florida.  I was fortunate enough to be able to visit friends and run with them.  I was able to get my planned 14 miler in.  The weather was a tad warm as it was in the 70's.  I have no clue what my time was since I left my Garmin at home, but I have to admit that it felt good not to run by myself and to run on flat land.  I felt good the whole way.  The only issue that I had was that I still had to blow my nose fairly often.  I must have some type of head cold or something.
