Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

When I woke up this morning it was still early, but I just wanted to get out the door and run.  I was able to do so while my husband and dogs slept.  I brought my music with me and tried to just clear my  head.  My goal on Sundays has been to run 7 miles, therefore completing 8 made me very happy.  It was nice to be done on a Sunday at 8:30 in the morning.  I felt decent out there, which means that I can't complain.

I was able to get out the door before 8:00am, which was good.  It was humid, but I believe that I felt a breeze at one point.  I wouldn't say that I felt bad, but I wasn't great either.  I am just down and it is definitely affecting my running.  These days I am happy just to get through my run, which is what I did today.

I decided to head over to the gym this morning for a change in scenery.  My run was fine.  I once again moved up a level about every mile or so and then went up every .25 miles for the last mile.  I felt good and finished under an hour.

I went to the gym this morning after a couple of days rest (I actually did walk 3 miles on Wednesday). I was down mentally, but felt fine running.

Needless to say, due to the lack of sleep, I didn't feel so great when I got going this morning.  My husband and I went out last night and had a really nice time, therefore this was totally my fault, but worth it.  The run actually made me feel better once we got going.  It was very humid this morning, but running and good conversation made it go by.
