Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I was able to run at the gym this morning, which was pretty decent considering how the past week has gone.  I felt pretty good and was able to get back to my normal pace.

I decided to enjoy the weather and run outside.  It was slow, but decent.  I felt alright completing my mileage.  It was nice knowing that I did not have to get 10 in today as I can finally do my long run next Saturday.

I had a lousy run today.  My legs were so tired.  I definitely did my share of walking, especially up the hills.  I did everything I could to get through it.  My guess is that the fatigue is due to the constant pacing that I had to do since our standardized testing began at school today.

I was back at the gym this morning.  My legs felt better than they did yesterday afternoon, but I was still tired.  The first four miles were slower than normal.  By mile 5, I was finally able to get up to a 10:00 minute mile.  For mile 6, I pushed the pace up every .2 of a mile so that I could get done, since I was running a tad late (no pun intended).

I ran with my track and field kids this afternoon.  My goal was to motivate the slower kids around a .8 mile route around the local high school.  It felt good to be out there.  I needed it.

I ran at the gym this morning.  It was a bit of a rough morning due a work related issue.  I got through my run without any issues, which was a good thing.  I needed it, big time.

 I finally had the opportunity to run with my friends again.  It was so nice to see them again.  I had a lot of venting to do and so did my main running buddy.  It was a much needed run for both of us.

Today's run was fairly awful.  It was nice out, although a tad warm, believe it or not.  I knew that I was in trouble when I started taking walk breaks during the first mile.  I did make it through 7 miles, but chose not to look at my final time.

My plan was to run 6 miles this morning, but I felt as though I needed the time at home to make sure that I was ready for work and especially my trip to New York to see my family.  I decided to cap today's effort at 5 miles so that I would relieve some stress.  Everything went better than expected considering the lousy night's sleep and the congestion that I had.

After an exhausting day yesterday, which was a combination of work and travel, I had to get up by 7:20 so that my parent's cleaning ladies could get started on the house.  I ran out in cold and blah weather.  Fortunately, the running was better than the weather.  I felt decent considering the fact that I was feeling a bit sick yesterday.  I have also been quite congested.  Needless to say, the cold air took care of that issue.  I wasn't the prettiest site out there, but I did run farther than I anticipated.

After a nice, but exhausting day yesterday, I slept in this morning, before going for my run.  It was definitely nicer out than it was yesterday.  There was a bit more traffic as I expected, but it wasn't bad at all.  Since I went to bed so early, I was able to get the same 8:00 am start as I did  yesterday. The bed that I sleep in at my parent's house is quite comfy.

I was back out running by my parents house this morning.  I was out there later than i have been the past couple of days.  It was colder than I anticipated, but once I got out there, I was fine.  I felt pretty good, even though my time was still slow.  Today is also my first day of spring break.  It was so nice to sleep in this morning.

Talk about a lousy run.  My legs were like jello and I had a mild headache.  This run took slow to a whole new level.  I capped it at 5 1/2 only because I had an appointment to get to.  I should have easily completed 6 - 7 miles this morning.  I will try again tomorrow and hope that it will be a better morning for a run.

My run today was better than it was yesterday.  It wasn't much faster, but it was better and I am trying to be positive.  I also completed my minimum goal, which was to complete 6 miles.  Mission accomplished!

This run was better than the one the day before.  I am hopefully improving again.  My mind was a bit clearer this morning.  I didn't feel the anger and sadness regarding work as I have the past couple of days.  I stopped when I did since my husband and I are on our way out of town late this morning.

It was once again nice to run after having a good, long night's sleep.  The only negative is that it was quite warm by the time I made it out for my run.  When I ran past the bank sign at just shy of my 3 mile mark it was already 84 degrees.  I will say that this was the best that I had felt in days.  I ran the "other" course that I run, although I had not run this one in quite a while and needed to.  This run is harder aka hillier and was much needed.  My time wasn't completely embarrassing as it has been.  I stopped at 6 just because it was quite toasty out.

I was back to work today and slept in so that I could get some work done.  In doing so, I chose to run after work.  I was out of there on time and was able to get home and get out the door fairly quickly.  It was warm out, but fortunately, there was cloud cover and a bit of a breeze.  My legs were tired, therefore my pace once again, was slow.  My legs were close to feeling like dead weight, but I did complete my run, which in my mind is always a step in the right direction.

I was back at the gym this morning after about a week and a half away from it.  It was good for me to go as running on the treadmill will force me to pick the pace up.  I was definitely slower than i have been on the treadmill, but ran faster than I have been outside.  It definitely took me a while to get up to my 10:00 minute/ mile pace, but I did get there.

I was able to run with my friends this morning.  It was nice and cool outside, with temperatures in the low 50's when we began.  I was able to run 7.75 with my friend, who needed to stop at that point.  I decided to continue on and run an additional 2.25 so that I could hit 10 miles.  It was a nice, relaxing run.  No worries about time or pace.  When my run was over, I felt really good.
