Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I had a decent run from home this morning.  It was cool, but not cold out, therefore it was comfortable.  I brought my music with me and just let the miles pass by.  I felt fine, but moved a bit slower than I wanted to for today.  I still felt good when I was done.

Things did not start out as smoothly as I planned as my watch disconnected at some point and had a very low battery.  Fortunately, the Nike GPS on my iPod worked in its place.  My run felt a tad slow, although it was quite nice out.  I guess I was a bit sluggish, not counting the times I was running into the wind.  I didn't think I would make it to 10 as I was getting tired.  Then my iPod's battery decided to hit a low point.  I managed to push through and make it to 10 miles, prior to my iPod ceasing on me.

I ran a double today, completing the first 6 miles this morning at the gym and the final five near our home.  I was tired this morning, but was able to get moving after a couple of miles.  This afternoon's run was pretty good, although I had watch problems right from the start.  I ran a course that I knew wass at least 5 miles.

I ran this afternoon after work since I will be working at our school's 5k this Saturday and won't be able to run beforehand.  I was tired and it was warm out, but I made it through.  The pace was slower than I would have liked, but I was able to step it up by the end.

I was able to get in my 10 miles after not knowing if I'd make it past 8 +, therefore, I was so happy to get my 10 completed.  I was a little tired, but finally got into a groove after about the first 4-5 miles.

I ran a double today, 5 miles at the gym this morning and 5 more this afternoon from home.  

My run on the treadmill was a bit different as the tv signal wasn't working.  Instead, I listened to music through my iPod and ran through New Zealand via the courses on the treadmill.  It wasn't a bad change of scenery.  

I thought that my second run would leave me soaked , but I lucked out, only being rained on just a bit.  Even though I do not know my official pace, I can tell you that it was slow.

I was able to get up this morning and feel alright even though I did not got enough sleep.  My plan was to run 5 miles, but added one more so that I could catch something on SportsCenter.  I also felt a bit shlubby after eating out last night (it was really good, though).

I was finally able to join my running buddy this morning.  We ran the first 8 +  miles together and then I finished the final 1+ on my own.  It was very mild out and fortunately we finished before the rain started up again.

Due to the chance of heavy rains this morning, I chose to go to the gym after sleeping in and walking my dogs.  I was concerned about this run as running 10 miles at the gym can feel very long.  Fortunately, it went quite well as I ran the first 6 in just under an hour and the final 4.1 in just over 38 minutes.

I ran a double today, completing 6.1 miles this morning at the gym and 5 miles this afternoon from home.  My run this morning was alright, a little tired at first, but then got into a groove.  My run this afternoon was a bit sluggish as my legs were tired.  I was also trying to avoid a rain storm that was coming our way.  I felt a few sprinkles at the end, but other than that, I stayed fairly dry.

Since it was pouring when I initially planned on getting up, I slept in and wound up going to the gym.  I don't love doing a long run on the treadmill, but I have gotten used to it and didn't mind it so much yesterday.  My average pace for the first 6 miles was 9:56/ mile, while my pace for the final four was 9:34/ mile.  Not too shabby for me and a great way to start the weekend.

After sleeping in again, I woke up to some beautiful, mild weather.  I walked my dogs, ate and went for my run.  My legs were a bit tired, but once I got into a groove I felt alright as my music kept me company.  My pace was much slower than yesterday as I finished with an average pace of 10:53/ mile.
