Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I was able to sleep in, take the dogs on a short walk and get started by 9:00am.  I was able to get 9+ miles in for the 3rd Sunday in a row.  It makes getting my mileage in the next day much easier.  I finished with an averge pace of 10:18/ mile, which meant that I picked up the pace during the second half of the run.  I had my music to keep me company and also tried to think through my lessons that I was going to need to prepare when I got home.

I ran a double today, with 5 on the treadmill at the gym and the other 5.2 from home.  I was able to complete my treadmill run in under 49 minutes and completed my second run averaging 10:15/ mile.  It was cold and windy, but I dressed properly for it, which made the run go alright.

I met with my running buddy this morning for our run and nice conversation. The only downside was that the pace was slow. We ran together for the first 7 miles and then is ran solo for the final 2.25.

After sleeping in, I went out for my run.  I chose to go 10 vs 9 miles to make things a little easier on myself tomorrow.  Thankfully, I felt pretty good, averaging 10:11/ mile pace as I had my music to keep me company.

Since I had a bit of extra time due to a professional learning day, I was able to get in a few extra miles this morning.  It was also going to be cold and rainy this afternoon, therefore, I did not want to have to worry about running this afternoon.

It was freezing this morning, but thankfully I was running at the gym.  A treadmill never looked so good as the temperature outside was in the mid 20's.  It didn't take long for me to get into a groove as SportsCenter kept me company.

I had a really nice, relaxing run this morning.  The temperature was probably around 28 - 30 degrees, but I was more than dressed for it.  I brought my music and just ran, not really thinking about the run itself.  I averaged 10:07/ mile running near our house.

I ran a double today to get in my mileage.  I ran the first 5 miles at the gym and then came home and ran the final five. I was tired for the first run, but the run was fine.  My legs felt beat up for the first two miles of my afternoon jaunt, which I ran near our house.  They felt like deadweight until about a good 2- 21/2 miles in.  Thankfully, all was good when the run was finished.

I felt pretty good on my run this morning which I did near our home with my music in hand.  I ran my hilly route and felt pretty good, although my time wasn't as good as it has been lately, as I finished averaging a 10:21/ mile pace.  I am not complaining nor upset, it just wasn't as good (although I did feel good).
