Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I ran with my running buddy this morning.  It was nice, but did take longer than it would have if I had been alone.  The company was worth the time difference.

After attempting to sleep in and walking the dogs, I went out for my run.  It was a tad cool when I started, which was nice.  I brought my music to keep me company.  My legs felt decent although they did become a bit tired towards the last couple of miles.  My average pace was 10:48/ mile.

After not getting nearly enough sleep, I was able to get myself up and make it to the gym.  My first 5.1 miles were completed on the treadmill, while the final five were run near the house.  My legs were definitely tired by the second run, but I was able to finish.

I was tired when I got up this morning, but was able to get myself to the gym.  The first couple of miles felt slow, but I was then able to get into a groove.  I finished with a pace of 9:50/ mile.

I had an alright run this morning near our home.  I was able to get out the door a little before 7 with my music.  I felt fine until the last 2-3 miles, where I felt a bit tired.  I pushed through, but my overall pace was much slower than I had hoped.  The good news is that I completed my goal for the day.

After sleeping in, although not as long as I planned, I walked the dogs and then went for my run.  I felt pretty good at the start, but felt tired by those latter miles.  It could have been the heat, but I didn't think it was that bad.  I guess I am just tired, but this should only be for a couple of more weeks as the school year is about to wrap up.

I ran a double today and I was somewhat tired during both of them.  As usual, the first run was at the gym which was fine outside of the tears that I shed during an interview with a woman who lost her leg at the Boston Marathon two years ago.  Run number two was completed in 90 degree heat after work.  All I can say is that it is done.

I had a decent run this morning, getting out the door by 6:30 am.  I was on my own as my friend had plans out of town.  This run wound up being what I am now calling my parking lot run.  I usually run around a few parking lots, but I wound up adding many more today.  It worked, therefore I cannot complain.  It was a nice way to start the day.

I had a surprisingly nice run this morning.  I slept in, walked the dogs and finally got out the door.  It was warm, but not too bad.  I found myself running up the hills versus wanting to walk them as I do sometimes.  My average pace was 10:35/ mile, which for me, after a 10 miler yesterday, I was happy about.

The weather was quite nice this morning as I ran on my own near our home.  It was cool, but my legs didn't feel as loose as they usually are for a Saturday morning run.  Neverthe less, I finished and was happy when I was done.

These were 9 ugly miles.  I slept in and walked the dogs with my husband before heading outside for my run.  My legs felt like weights thoughout the entire thing. It was warm out as I didn't start until 10:00am, but I am not going to use the weather as an excuse.  My guess is that my body is just a bit tired.

I ran the first mile and WALKED the final 3.  Physically I was fine, I was just trying to make up for the mile I did not get in yesterday.  I enjoy walking as a change of pace from running while still getting some cardio in.

I met up with my running buddy this morning, which was nice since we haven't gotten together in weeks.  We ran the first 7 miles and then walked the final 3 as her legs were tired and I just wanted to keep moving yet continue talking.  It wasn't fast, but it was alright.  Todays run was more about being active with a friend than maintaining a certain pace.
