Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I was back at the gym this morning.  I was a bit tired after a long day yesterday, but was able to maintain my regular pace.

I realized when I got out to my run that my watch was not working.  I decided to put the watch in my car and just run a route that I know the distance of.  I ran for the most part on my own, but that was fine.  I had some stuff to deal with and this run gave me that necessary alone time.

After being woken up by the dogs and attempting to get back to the sleep, I decided to just get up and go for my run.  I was out the door by 8:00am and felt pretty good.  I brought my music and just tried to enjoy myself.

I met up with my Saturday morning running group this morning.  I ran with the faster girls today, which was good.  Every now and then I dropped back, but was able to stay with them for the most part.  I do think that they may have slowed down for me.  I finished in just under 1:42:00, which I was quite happy with.  Once again, a great way to start the weekend.

CYCLING Miles.  It was rainy this morning and after getting wet while walking the dogs, I did not feel like driving to the gym.  I chose instead to ride my exercise bike for an hour.  I rode at tension levels of 6-8 (8 is the highest) for 50 of the 60 minutes. The bike showed that I rode 10.3 miles, so I just cut it in half (for the most part) for running distance (I have no idea if there is an equivalent).

I was back at the gym this morning bright and early.  I felt okay today.  I found that I needed a walk break after almost every mile.  I still managed to finish in just under an hour, so i was happy.

Instead of running at the gym this morning, I decided to run outside near home. I was able to sleep an extra 15 minutes and enjoy the coolish morning weather.  It was still dark when I started, but by the halfway point, the sun was starting to rise.  My time was slow, but I was alright with it for today.

Today is my first day completely off for the summer.  It was so nice to get up and meet my friends for our Saturday run.  It was very casual as we ran the first 8, and walked for most of 9.  I then ran most of 10 on my own.  It was also a beautiful morning weather-wise as there was a bit of coolness in the air.

We slept in a tad too late this morning.  It was really nice, but from a running standpoint, not so good. I didn't get started until around 11:00am and it is already too warm for that time.  I got through it, but it wasn't pretty.

Today is my first official day of summer vacation(1st weekday). It was so nice sleeping in, walking the dogs and then going for my run.  I was actually out the door by around 8:15am, which was not bad at all.  My running wasn't so hot, but it was nice to get out there without the usual stress and fatigue.

With a 9:30am appointment, I did have to get up this morning and go to the gym.  I needed it as I do run faster there than I do from home.  It felt good for the most part and I was able to finish in less than 59 minutes.

I also attempted to use one of the ab machines, but I do not beleive that I was very successful on it.

I was able to sleep in this morning and then go for my run.  As usual, the rest was good, but I struggled a bit to get out the door.  My run was slow, but did evenutally pick after the halfway point.  I decided to run by my house versus going to the gym.

I was back running with friends this morning.  We ran the first 8.2 miles and then walked the rest.  This was not the initial plan, but it is just the way things turned out.  I did need to run, but the walking was quite nice.

As I normally do on Sunday, I slept in and then walked the dogs with my husband before I hit the pavement.  I brought my music with me, which helped, but it was warm and I felt sluggish.  I am hopimg that I am just adjusting to the warmer weather.

I slept in this morning and then walked my dogs before my morning run.  I chose to run outside vs the gym since it was a bit overcast.  Unfortunately, it still felt warm out and I was sluggish the majority of the time. I plan on going to the gym tomorrow, so hopefully it will be a better day.

My plan was to go to the gym this morning.  When I was walking my dogs I noticed that it was a tad muggy, but it was overcast with a bit of a breeze.  I thought that I would take advantage of the sun not stalking me and run outdoors.  Today was definitely better than the last couple of days.  I do actually plan on running at the gym tomorrow.

I finally made it to the gym.  I slept in again and by the time I walked the dogs, I decided that it was definitely a good day to go to the gym.  It was warm and sunny, which made the gym a bit more enticing.  I ran my typical run, which felt good since it is much faster than what I have been doing outside.  When I was done, I even got in a bit of abdominal work, which will not hurt this body in the least.
