My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009. I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st. Short-Term Running Goals: I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day. I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th. Completed: Time of 4:16:58 (better than last year) Long-Term Running Goals: It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time. Personal: I am married, no kids, two dogs. I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

| My husband and I arrived in Denver, Co. yesterday. My first mile was on the elliptical as both treadmills in our hotel gym were taken. When one came open, I switched to the treadmill, which was pretty good. I ran until my husband was finished with his workout. |

| This mileage is a combination of running and hiking. I ran three miles at the hotel gym and then my husband and I went hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was so cool. We climbed approximately 2 1/2 miles before turning around. Our initial plan was to climb until the lake, but it was much further than we realized and a thunderstorm was approaching, which sounds much louder in the mountains. We also still had an hour and a half drive back to Denver, so we thought that it would be best to turn around. What a tiring, but wonderful day. The Rocky Mountains really are amazing. |

| The time change definitely had an effect on me as I was not able to fall asleep until about 2:00am. We both slept in and then went to the gym. It felt good to get back into the swing of things. I felt fine throughout the workout. |

| I was up at 6:30+ as I had an appointment this morning. I felt a bit sluggish at first, but felt better as I continued. I finished about 3 minutes faster than I did yesterday for just about the same distance. |

| My plan was to go 7 miles this morning, but with my mother-in-law coming to town, I had to shorten it just a bit. It also didn't help that I definitely did some walking from time-to-time. It was close to 9:30am when I started, which meant that it was getting warm and the humidity was in effect. |

| I had to get up early this morning for work purposes and knew that running beforehand would not be a wise idea. My original thought is that I would just get up early the next few days. Fortunately, when I got home today, I felt like getting my run in. It was still quite humid, but it was overcast with potential for rain, which I didn't mind. What I was not anticipating was how loose my legs would feel when I got started. I could not believe how good they felt. The rain started by around mile 2, which was fine since it was just hard enough to keep me cool, but not so hard that my shoes were soaked. I ran an average pace of just under a 10:00 minute mile, which for me, running outside, was very positive. |

| I decided to run from home this morning instead of going to the gym. It was a bit dark for the first 3+ miles, but I was able to leave my flashlight behind for the rest of the run. It was humid, but not having the sun out definitely helped. I didn't run as well as yesterday, but I felt alright through the duration. |

I decided to head to the gym this morning for a change of scenery and for what is normally a faster run. I wouldn't say that my legs felt loose, but I did feel decent. I was able to run my typical pace, which felt good, finishing under a 9:00 minute pace. |

| It poured on us for the majority of the first couple of miles. I was soaked from head to toe. Fortunately, the rain did stop and it remained overcast, which meant that running would be a tad easier. We did a run/walk for the last couple of miles as my running buddy was feeling a bit tired. |

| After sleeping in and walking the dogs, I was out the door. Unfortunately, it was already after 9:30 and the sun was out. I actually felt alright for the first 2-3 miles, although my time did not reflect it. After that point, the heat was starting to take effect. I was happy that I was able to get to the 7 mile mark. |

| By the time I woke up from sleeping in and walked the dogs, it was already after 9:00am, which meant it was warm outside. I could have gone to the gym, but decided to just deal with the heat. It wasn't too awful, although there were times that I walked, when I would have preferred not to. On a positive note, I did run faster than I did yesterday, finishing about 2 minutes ahead of what I did at the 6 mile point. |

| I was not able to sleep in as I had planned. With my mind racing as I am almost back to work, I decided just to get up. After walking the dogs, I was out the door for my run. The one positive of getting up earlier, is that it was a tad cooler starting at 7:30am. I felt as though I ran better than yesterday, although my time was just a bit slower. I was able to push myself not to stop and walk, which has been so tempting lately. Needless to say, I got through it and am content that I was able to do so. |

Now that I am back to work, almost, and had to get up early, I decided to head to the gym. My legs felt good, not great, and remained loose, I picked up the pace a bit earlier than usual as the 10:00 minute pace that I was running seemed a bit slow at the time. I took up the pace one level and ran 9:50 for a bit longer than usual. I maxed out during the last mile at under a 9:00 minute pace. |

| The humidity wasn't as bad as it has been, although it was still warm. I ran the first 6.5 miles with my friend and then ran the final 3.5 on my own as she needed to leave early. |

| I ran at the gym this morning since it was already feeling pretty hot outside. I ran while my husband weight trained. He finished a bit earlier than I anticipated, therefore I was only able to get 5 miles in. I will say that I was watching the olympics while running, which was very inspiring. |
