Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I had a really good run this morning, as today was our first Gameday run of the season.  I joined my group, although my running buddy was not there.  I was pretty much on my own after just a few minutes, but that was actually okay with me.  I could run my own pace and not feel guilty that I was holding anyone back.  I completed the last 2 + miles on campus, which is always kind of neat as all of the tailgaters drinking and hanging out at 8 in the morning.  The sound of the marching band warming up was the icing on the cake.  I finished the first 10 in 1:42, which I was very happy about. Go Dawgs!

It was so nice to sleep in this morning.  The only downside was that by the time we got up and walked the dogs, it was already quite warm outside.  I wound up going to the gym with my husband instead of running outside.  I wouldn't say that I felt great, but it wasn't bad. The gym actually felt quite warm.  I was able to increase my pace a bit earlier than usual and was able to complete 7, which I was happy about.

It was so nice to sleep in this morning.  As soon as I woke up, I made myself get up so that I could go for my run while it was still somewhat mild out (it was humid, but not too hot).  Unfortunately, my body didn't love the idea.  My stomach still felt a tad full from the really good cookie I had last night and my legs felt tired.  I mustered through, but needless to say, my time isn't worth documenting.

I was able to get up this morning (at 4:20am) fairly easily as I was able to sleep in yesterday. Outside of having to stop a couple of times to blow my nose, I felt alright.  Always happy after I have completed a run.

I am glad that I got up this morning to run rather than taking care of it this afternoon.  I felt tired while on the treadmill, not feeling somewhat strong until mile 5.  As usual, I was happy to be finished.  I will now take a day or two of rest.

I had a really good run this morning.  My group was running twelve (although they (as in two of them) had already run a few before I had gotten there).  My plan was for at least 10, but since I have just signed up for my next half, which is 6 weeks away, I figured it was time to add a bit more.  I would up running a little over 11, which I was very happy about.  I did feel a bit fatigued, which seemed about right as I haven't gone above 10 in awhile.  I need to remember to start bringing a Clifblok with me for the next few weeks.  I finished the first 11 in about 1:53.  Once again, a nice way to start the weekend.

Even though I was able to sleep in and the weather was beautiful, my run left little to be desired.  I ran near our house, which is hillier than my typical Saturday run. I just move slower and take more walk breaks.  Needless to say, I was happy when I finished, but the pace is not good.

Even though it may not have been the smartest idea, I decided to run outside this morning.  It was dark the entire time, but the weather has dropped a bit and it made the air feel wonderful.  After running my first loop, I decided to adjust it a bit since one part of the road is just ridiculously dark.  It wasn't fast or even close to what I wanted, but air felt great.

I didn't feel so hot when I started and wound up having to cut my run short.  I never regret going for a run, but I really hope tomorrow is a better day.

After a stressful evening (work-related) and the joy of cramps, I decided that I would get up this morning and enjoy the cool weather outside.  Since it was dark, I kept to my neighborhood.  My pace was slow, but it felt good to be outside in the fresh air.

After a long week, I met my running buddy at 6:30 for our Saturday run.  It was a tad slow, but not too bad.  The weather was also nice, with temps in the low 60's. I am happy with my 10 and am ready for the weekend.

It was nice to have a decent night's sleep and still be out the door by 8:30.  I felt decent and had a good run from the standpoint that nothing hurt and that I didn't walk much.  My pace was mixed from mile to mile, with my overall time once again, nothing to write home about.

I wound up having a really nice run this morning.  It was in the low 60's, which felt really nice.  I started with my group, but was pretty much on my own.  I need to work up to at least 12-13 miles as I prepare for the half marathon that I am doing in a month.  I started out a bit slow, and the knees felt a bit achy.  Once I got to mile 3, I started feeling a bit stronger.  I finished in 1:52+, which was a 9:56 pace.  I completed mile 11 in 9:33.  This was a great way to start the weekend.

I decided to sleep in this morning as the sleep was much needed.  Unfortunately, by the time we got up and walked the dogs and I got out the door, it was already after 10:30am.  I missed the cool morning temperatures and mentally, I didn't feel like running anymore.  Of course, I still got out there, which was a good thing.  Time wasn't good as I just wanted to walk the hills that I encountered. I only ran a couple of miles at a decent pace.  As usual though, I was happy that I completed my goal of 7 miles.

I ran at the gym this morning, which worked out alright.  I was a bit tired at first, put was able to pick up the pace eventually.  I had considered cutting out a mile, but I am glad that I didn't as I was able to perservere in the last couple of miles.

I wound up having a really good run this morning.  I met up with my group, but was pretty much on my own for the first 6 + miles.  I then caught up with the couple of women that were ahead of me and we ran the rest together.  It really helped pass the time.  I averaged about a 10:01 pace, but most of my miles were under a 10:00 minute pace.  This was a great way to start the weekend.  My time was 2:03+.
