Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I ran at the gym this morning, which went well. Even though I didn't get much sleep, I still felt like a woman on a mission when I got up.  I even started the treadmill at a slightly faster pace than normal.

I ran with my running buddy for the first time in a few weeks.  We ran the first 7 miles together, which was slow, but the conversation necessary.  After she finished, I completed the final 3.1 miles on my own running at a decent pace.  I had the pleasure of running on campus for the first gameday run of the year.  I love the music as I run out there.

After sleeping in and walking the dogs, I went out ffor my run.  It went fairly well as I got to run under overcast skies.

After sleeping in and probably getting up a bit too late, I finally went out for my run.  It was a bit warmer than I would have liked (mainly when the sun was oout), but it was alright otherwise.  I started out quite slow, but was able to pick up the pace after the first couple of miles.

I met my running buddy this morning for our run.  We ran the first 6.25 miles and then I completed the final 3.75 on my own, enjoying the cooler weather.

I decided to take advantage of the cool weather and run outside. It was just me and the stars as I made it through my 8 miles.

Since I had fasted the previous 24 hours and just ate for the first time since the previous night, my body was a bit off this morning.  I didn't necessarily feel bad, I just lacked my normal energy, which didn't surprise me.  I was happy to be moving again after not running the past couple of days.

Since I am getting ready for the AthHalf next month, I needed to start increasing my mileage to prepare for 13.1 miles.  I ran in 5 points and on campus so that I could take in the gameday activities.  The weather put a slight damper on things,but it was still nice to be out there.

After finally sleepting in, I went out for my run while my husband walked the dogs.  I was able to get 7 miles vs 8 as my mother-in-law was coming into town and I needed to get the food shopping done prior to her arrival.  I felt pretty good after the first couple of miles.
