Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

This was a perfect morning for a run as the temperatures were in the upper 60's.  Our exchange student wanted to run with me, but it didn't go as he thought it would. He sdaid that I had a lot of stamina.  He was wiped out within the first half mile. I would just run ahead and turn around. I did this for the first couple of miles before getting him home.  I then went back out for the final 8 miles.

After sleeping in and walking our dogs, I went for my run.  It was late for me, but thankfully the air was a tad cool.  The last two mornings have been so nice.

It was so nice sleeping in this morning.  I must have been exhausted as I slept like a rock.  After taking my dogs on a short walk, I went for my run.  It didn't feel bad, but my pace was terrible.  I am trying to get back to my old schedule prior to the shin giving my problems.

With morning temperatures in the upper 60's, I ran outside this morning.  My pace was terrible, although the route was hilly as I stayed in the confines of our neighborhood (for the most part).

I got myself up early to get this run in early as we had plans for the day. It worked out as I ran the first 3 miles near the house due to a lack of daylight.  I then finished the final 8 using my normal route.

I went to the gym this morning for my run.  It had been a couple of weeks as I had run outside all of last week.  I felt good, hitting my goal of 7 miles.

Its been a long time since I have run 12 miles, but I can honestly say that it wasn't bad at all.  Emotionally, I wish I had been better, but the distance itself felt fine.  I need to have a good run next weekend to feel better about doing well at the AthHalf in three weeks.

I ran my first 13 mile run in almost a year in preparation for the half  I have coming up in a couple of weeks.  My original plan was to run part of the course, but that didn't happen.  I felt alright during the entire run, but will definitely need to move a lot faster on race day.
