Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I ran my final long run before the half this morning.  I got up early as usual and ran from home.  It was a nice cool morning.

I was back at the gym this morning for my run. As part of my taper, I ran 6 instead of 7 miles today.  I felt good during the run.

I went to the gym this morning for my run.  As this is one of my last runs prior to the half on Sunday, I ran 6 miles instead of my usual 7.  I felt good as the television kept me company.

This run was terrible.  I ran outside versus going to the gym. My goal was to just get some time on my feet and not worry about the weekly mileage.

This was a perfect day for a race.  Temperatures were in the 50's and I was able to sleep the night before.  My body did what it was suppose to do prior to the race, which allowed me to feel good throughout.  I was able to maintain a decent pace , although my legs were tiring the last couple of miles.  I definitely had to push myself up the hills, as there are many the second half, and remind myself just to run with "No Regrets," (my motto).  I was able to finish strong and loved seeing my husband at the finish line.  It was a really good day.  It wasn't a personal best, but I did improve from last year.

After a lousy night's sleep, I chose to get up and go for my run.  This was my first since the half marathon last weekend. I chose to run outside and enjoy the cool air.  It was slow, but my legs felt pretty good.  It was more like a run/ walk, but I was just happy to get the legs moving again.
