Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

After sleeping in due to the Labor Day holiday, I decided to hit the streets for my morning run.  I brought my music and just tried to enjoy myself.  I had a pretty good time for running around here averaging a 10:16 / mile pace.

I chose to run outside this morning so that I could get to work a bit earlier.  It was, of course, hilly and my time was slow.

I was back at the gym this morning for my run.  The tv in the treadmill was finally working properly, as I could actually clearly see the screen.  I felt a bit sluggish, but was able to maintain my typical treadmill pace.

I had the opportunity to run with my friend this morning.  We ran just over 8 miles together.  The pace was slow, but I was able to get in the last couple of miles on my own at a faster pace.

After sleeping in and walking the dogs, I was able to get out for my run.  It was warm out, not terrible, was enough to where I was noticing the temperature.  I started out sluggish, but was able to pick up the pace, averaging 10:42 per mile.

I decided to run at the gym this morning as it was quite warm outside.  I started off  a tad sluggish, but then was fine, completing the distance in my typical fashion.

Due to temperatures hovering in the upper 60's this morning, I chose to run outside to start my day.  We had a full moon, which meant that there was some nice natural light as I ran through my neighborhood.  My time was still slow for this route, but it wasn't as bad as it has been.

I ran the first 8.3 miles with my running buddy.  It was slow, but it was nice to catch up.  I ran the final 1.7 miles at just over a 10:00 minute/ mile pace.

Typical Sunday, slept in, walked the dogs, went for my run.  The only difference today was that the weather was a bit cooler, a bit wit, which meant that I left the music at home.  My time wasn't great, but I have seen much worse.

I decided to run near our house this morning as the weather was to be a bit cooler.  It wasn't as cool as I anticipated, but there was a nice breeze.  I felt fine thoughout, although the mile did go by slower than I hoped.

It was just me and my iPod this morning.  The air was a bit cool and perfect for running.  I did have some stomach issues that caused me to stop on two occasions, but when I was running, it was good.

My legs felt a bit tired this morning for at least the first 3 miles.  We went to the UGA game yesterday and walked 6 miles (3 each way) to get to and from the game (this was on top of the 10 I ran in the morning.)  I brought my music again to keep me company and finished averaging at 10:34 per mile, which was about 10 seconds faster than yesterday's long run.

After thinking that I was going to be running solo, I wound up joining my running buddy for a little over the first 6 miles.  I then ran the final 5 miles on my own as she was done for the morning.  I was concerned as to whether or not I would be able to get to a decent pace once on my own since the first six were slow, but thankfully, I was able to get into a good groove.

I ran from home with my music after sleeping in and walking the dogs with my husband.  I actually had a better than expected run.  I kept reminding myself that I am running the Athens Half in 3 weeks and need to be able to make it up the hills and not look stupid or feel exhausted.  I was able to finish averaging a 9:59 per mile pace, which for me, around my route near my house made me very happy.
