Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

It was hard getting up and going to the gym this morning as I have been off for the past week.  Thankfully, I felt alright and was able to get though my run without any issues.

I did not have the best run in the world today.  I knew that I would only be able to get 5 miles in since I had an early morning meeting, but it just felt slow and sluggish.

Of course, I drove out to my meeting place and realized that I forgot my watch.  We decided to stick with a route we knew for the first 8 miles.  We then walked what we are assuming was about another 2 miles.  It was cold out, with temperatures in the low 30's, but it felt fine as I was dressed appropriately.  The only down side is that the run was a tad slow.

I had a really nice run this morning.  I started at around 8:00am after walking my dogs.  I brought my music to keep me company in the cold.  I felt good averaging about a 10:15/ mile pace.

I ran at the gym this morning due to the weather, but mainly because I needed to bring my car in and wanted to get it over to the dealer close to when it opened.  The first 3 miles felt long even though my slowest pace was a 10:00 minute mile, but thankfully, after running to the restroom (no pun intended), the final 5 didn't seem so bad.

I was able to get out the door at a decent hour this morning for my run.  It was wet and kind of cold, but not bad.  I was able to average a 10:26/ mile pace running near the house.

I was able to go run with my running buddy this morning before heading to the airport to pick up my parents.  It was in the mid-40's with some light drizzle, but it wasn't bad.  The pace was slow, but the conversation was great.

I met my running buddy this morning for our run.  It was cold, but we were fine, running the first 9.4 miles and walking the last .6 as this was a bit further than my running partner is used to. The pace was a bit slow, but the conversation was great.

NEW SHOES - I broke out the new running shoes today as it was one of the first days we had where it wasn't wet outside.  I also brought my music along and tried to enjoy the run.  My original plan was to go 6 miles, but found myself feeling strong enough to add that extra mile.
