Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

My running buddy and I got together for our weekly "therapy" session.  It was slow, but nice catching up.  She was able to run all 10 miles with me. Once we hit 10, we walked the rest.

After sleeping in and walking the dogs, I decided to head out for my run.  My route today was different as I chose to use my Saturday course so that I could get more mileage in without thinking it about it too much.  My average pace was 10:37/ mile, which I was happy about.

I decided to run outside this morning instead of at the gym.  It was dark for the first 3 1/2 - 4 miles, but then the sun rose.  My run was a tad slow as it tends to be when I run around my neighborhood in the early morning.

After a not-so-good night's sleep, I got up and started my run just before the sun was about to rise.  I started off  a bit slow, but was able to pick up the pace for the second half.

I met my running buddy for our morning run. It was humid with a chance of rain.  We ran the first 6 together and then I ran on my own with my music.  Once I was solo, I was able to pick up the pace, which felt good.

I decided to run from home this morning as this is my first day back to school with students.    I wanted to have a bit of time at school before things began.  My run wasn't too slow, albeit slow, but my course is hilly from home.

I was back in my neighborhood for another morning run.  My legs were tired as they realized I had been up on them all day the previous day.  It usually takes about a week for my legs to feel back to normal.  My run was sluggish and it was humid, but I did finish what I started.

My plan was to go to the gym this morning, but after letting my dogs out, I realized that it felt too good outside to run inside.  It was in the mid 60's, which is great for August in Georgia.  I felt alright running, even though my time was still not good.

I went to the gym this morning for the for my morning run.  The good news is that the tv's in the treadmills are now working, the bad news is that they are not working well. The screen is quite snowy.  I did catch a clip on SportsCenter this morning describing how the Ice Bucket Challenge got started.

I decided to head to the gym this morning.  Thankfully, I brought my iPod with me as the tv in the treadmill is once again not working.  I listened to my music and ran through the streets and trails of New Zealand and Utah (on the treadmill).  I finished my run in under 59 minutes, which was good.

I had a really good run this morning.  It was warm, but my music kept me company.  Today is also the first home football game of the season, therefore I had the pleasure of running on campus and seeing the tailgaters out in full force at 8 am even though game time isn't until 5:30pm.  I finished the first 10 miles in 1:43:3, which I made me very happy.

I was back outside running near home this morning.  It was humid, but cloudy, which made the run not so bad.  My legs were a bit tired, but I managed to finish maintaing a 10:29/ mile pace.
