Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

After sleeping in and walking my dogs I was out for my morning run.  The temperature was mild, in the low 70's.  I ran slowly, but was happy to get the distance in.

I was back up at 5:15 this morning so that I could run before my last day of curriculum writing.  I must admit that I do love the temperature as the sun is coming up in the morning.  Running is always a nice way to begin the day.  Time was still not good, but I know that completing the run is still important.

It was so nice to sleep in this morning as I finally wrapped up my last day of work yesterday.  Since the temperatures in the morning are still pleasant, I chose to run outside instead of going to the gym.  My time wasn't good, but it was better than how I did yesterday.

I decided that I needed a change of scenery this morning and went to the gym (I also need to make sure I am utilizing my membership).  I am glad that I did as I was able to run faster than I have on the streets.  I felt good the entire time, which was nice.  I finished in 58 minutes, which I was happy about.

After not running together for a couple of weeks, my running buddy and I were able to meet up for our Saturday morning long run.  Even though the time wasn't good, it was really nice catching up.  We ran the first 10 miles and walked the final 1.3.

WALKING MILES.  After a long, rough weekend (medically speaking), I decided to get moving this morning.  I am not comfortable running right now, therefore I walked instead.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, which should guide me as to when I can run again.

WALKING MILES.  My doctor's appointment this morning will provide guidance as to when I can run again.  I am assuming it could be as soon as tomorrow, but I just want to be sure.  I walked today just so that I could get moving for a bit.

After not being able to run the past few days due to medical reasons, I was finally able to get back out there today.  My run today was one of the better ones that I have had in a while.  It was humid, but cloudy, which made conditions fairly comfortable.

I was so thankful to get this run in as I didn't think that I would have the time after being so tired from yesterday.  My body must have really wanted to run as I woke up a couple of times, before I needed to (and I forgot how the sun is up by 5:00am in New York this time of year).  I ate and got dressed at the same time to get myself out the door within 10-15 minutes. The run felt good, with the roads only containing some minor rolling hills.

I was able to get up and run with plenty of time to spare before going shopping.  The weather was warmer than yesterday, but still comfortable.  I was able to maintain a nice pace, finishing in a little over an hour.

I was not planning on running this morning, but since I had the time and clean running clothes, I decided to run one more time in New York, before I head back to Georgia.  The temperature was a tad warmer than it has been the past couple of days, but it was still alright.  Once again, I was able to maintain a decent pace.

These are WALKING MILES.  My plan was not to work out at all today outside of walking my dogs, but I felt good when I got back with them and decided to grab my music and walk for a bit.  It was nice to walk just because I wanted to and I was able to maintain a 16:30-17:00 pace, which was good.

Today was my first run since being back from New York.  It was warm, but not too bad.  My pace was slower than it was in N.Y., but my route here is a bit hillier and it is warmer.

My running buddy and I were able to meet up this morning for our long run.  We ran the first 8 1/4 together and then I ran the final 1 3/4 on my own.  It was nice to catch up after not seeing each other for a couple of weeks.  Our pace was slow, but I was able to pick things up a bit when I was on my own at the end.

I was up a decent hour and after walking the dogs, went out for my run.  Since it was just a little after 8am, the temperatures weren't too bad yet to run outside.  I actually felt pretty good, better than yesterday.  I was able to push myself on most of the hills, which always leads to a better run in the end.

I decided to go to teh gym today as I had not been there in quite awhile.  I was very disappointed upon selecting my treadmill that none of the tv's on the machine worked.  I do not have a problem running on the treadmill as I tend to run faster, but the tv makes it so much easier.  I got through it, of course, finishing the first 6 miles in 58 minutes, which I was very pleased about.

I had the opportunity to join my running buddy this morning for our Saturday jaunt.  It was warm, but not too bad.  We were able to run the first 9.3 together and then I finished the last .7 on my own.  It was slow, but the conversation was good.  I tried to pick up the pace when I was on my own.

After sleeping in and walking my dogs, I finally made it out for my run a little after 9:00am.  It was already warm, but fortunately, I was able to get some cloud cover for the majority of the time that I was out there.  I felt pretty good as I averaged about 10:30/ mile, running near our home.

When I started, my plan was to complete at least 6 miles, but fortunately I was able to finish with 7.  I felt pretty good the whole time, having some cloud cover definitely helped.  I chose to bring some music as well to keep me company.
