Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

Since I needed to get to work for an early meeting, I ran outside this morning. The weather was just cool enought with temperatures in the low 60's.

I had such a nice run this morning finishing in just under 1:45.  The temperatures were in the low 50's and I had my music keeping me company as I was on my own due to work responsibilities.  Th sun was out and it was just enjoyable even though my route is not flat.

After sleeping in and taking and taking a longer than usual walk with our dogs, I was able to get out for my run.  It was not pretty as I felt tired and slow.  It was warm, but not bad and I also had my music, but I just felt a bit sluggish.  Hopefully, tomorrow will work out a bit better.

I was back at the gym this morning.  Now that it is warm outside it is warm inside the gym.  This definitely adds to the sweat factor.  I felt good even though I was tired.

It was mild out this morning as I went out for my 10-miler.  My legs felt good as I enjoyed the music in my ears.  I did feel a bit tired after a couple of the hills, but overall I was fine.  I love starting out the weekend with this kind of run.  I finished in 1:45, which I was fine with, especially considering the long week.

It was so nice to sleep in this morning and then go for my run, of course, the dogs were walked first.  This run was better than last Sunday's run as my legs didn't feel as heavy.  I was not a speed demon by any stretch of the imagination, but I had my music and just ran.

I had a nice run with my running buddy this morning after not seeing her for five weeks.  The only down side was that the pace was much slower than what I have been running on my own.  After a long week of work, it was nice to catch up with friend.  I did notice that my right knee felt a bit stiff.  I am assumong that maybe I slept a bit funny.

Due to a lot of rain outside, I decided to let my husband walk the dogs and I went to the gym. I was able to run, but the area behind my knee felt a bit funny.  I noticed it a bit yesterday and both my husband and I felt something funny in my knee.  I squated down yesterday while out shopping and that just hurt.  Needless to say, I haven't done that since.  I have no idea what this is as this problem is new to me.

I attempted to run this morning, but the pain behind my knee was there.  I had to walk the majority of the time, although I did attempt to run when the ground was flat, thinking I would feel the pain less.

These are WALKING MILES.  I have been having pain in the back of my knee for a couple of days.  I decided to start wearing one of those Icy Hot wraps and walk instead of run for a couple of days.  I was able to walk on the treadmill this morning without any pain. I chose not to run at all.

These are WALKING miles.  I decided to walk instead of run again to rest the leg.  I am not sure as to what the problem is, but walking doesn't seem to be causing any pain.  I will take the next couple of days off and attempt to run again on Saturday.

I was finally able to run again after having to walk most of the week due to a knee/ hamstring problem.  I did not feel any pain from the region that was bothering me, although now my quads are really sore.  I ran with my running buddy for about 7 1/2 miles and then ran the last 2 1/2 on my own.  It was so nice to run again.

It was so nice to sleep in before my run.  The downside, it was a bit warm once I got out there.  I brought my music with me to help with the focus.  My time was slow, but I was happy to be running again pain-free.
