Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

It was another cold Saturday morning.  I met up with my running buddy for a nice, casual long run.  We are assuming that we got about 9 miles in as not one, but both of our watches stopped working while we were out there.  I have recognized that it is time for me to purchase a new running watch.  Happy Saturday!

It was so nice to sleep in this morning.  I had th opportunity to try out my new running watch this morning. I finally broke down and bought one, since the battery in my previous one was on its way out.  I decided to go beyond my normal 6 since I had the time and energy and was able to get 8 in and feel really good.  So far, I am digging the watch since my overall average pace was about a 10:00 minute mile.  My first two miles were over 10, but the last 6 were under, which I was very happy about.  The weather was at least in the mid-40's which felt mild in comparison to what it has been.  This run was a really nice way to start the day.

I was up early to head to the gym and fortunately it didn't feel that bad.  I felt good throughout my run.

My plan was to run after work today so that I didn't have to get up early in the morning.  Fortunately, I was able to leave work a little after 4:00 and get home to change, walk the dogs and run before the sun went down.  My legs felt a bit heavy at first, but once I got going I felt fine.

My friend was out of town, so I chose to get an extra hour of sleep and then run from my home.  I was able to get out the door as the sun was coming up.  I put on my music and had a really nice run, finishing in just over 1:43.  I ran my new hilly run and felt good the entire time.

Once we got up and walked the dogs, I was finally able to get out the door.  It was a bit of a struggle, but I promised myself that I would run at least 6 miles.  I was happy that I was able to push myself to 7 miles.

I was back to the gym early this morning.  It felt way too early when I got up, but once I got myself going I was alright.  My run felt fine and I was able to maintain my typical pace.

Due to the inclement weather, I was off from school and was able to sleep in and get to the gym before the weather worsened.  I was going to run outside, but the rain started getting heavier.  Thankfully, their was no ice on the road.  I felt good during the entire run and added just a bit more incline than normal.

I rode my exercise bike today due to the inclement weather.  I rode for 70 minutes and watched videos on youtube.

Today was my first run since Stormapolocolypse 2014 hit.  What a crazy week ass we had freezing rain, sleet, snow and then an earthquake to top of the week.  Fortunately, I got a lot of rest as school was closed most of the week, we never lost power and the earthquake was listed as a 4.1 and just freaked people out a bit.  It was cold, upper 30's, but not bad.  I ran with my running buddy, which was nice.  I ran about 7 with her and then completed the last two on my own.  Only downside was that the pace was slow.  Happy Saturday.

After a decent night's sleep and a walking of the dogs, I finally got myself on the road for my morning run.  I felt fine, but my pace was slow.  I ran my typical run from my house, which is a bit hilly at times during the first couple of miles.  This was one of those mornings where I remind myself that at least I got out there.

I ran a double today so that I can sleep in tomorrow.  I ran my morning 6 at the gym.  I definitely felt tired when I got up, but fortunately woke up soon after that and was ready to run.  I ran my second 6 from home, making sure that I left work on time.  My legs felt tired at first, but did alright once I got in a couple of miles.

I managed to leave work a little after 4:30 and got myself home for an afternoon run so that I would not have to get up early Thursday morning.  My legs were a bit tired at first, but once I got into a groove, I felt fine.

It was a bit cool this morning in comparison to the past few days.  I met my running buddy, but while out there, tripped and fell during mile 3.  I scraped both knees and bruised my leg.  I could feel each scrape and bruise for the duration of our run and chose to walk mile 10.

I slept in, walked the dogs and then went for my run.  My pace wasn't so great as I could feel the bruise that I received during my run yesterday.  I am happy that I was able to get over 6 miles in.

I chose to run early and outside this morning.  I am very stressed about work these days and made myself get up and run for my sanity and did so outside because I needed to get to work.  It was slow, but this workout is a bit hilly as I run near our home.  I was glad that I completed my goal when I was done.

I got myself up this morning and went to the gym.  I felt pretty good for not getting much sleep.  Outside of the huge bruise on my leg, which I really felt during the 1st mile, I felt good.
