Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I wound up having a fairly good run this morning.  I was on my own, starting a bit after 6:30.  The weather was mild as I turned on the music and hit the pavement.  I ran into the other members of the group just after the two mile mark.  I felt good the whole time, finishing the first 10 miles in 1:43+.  I was definitely content with my performance.  Happy Saturday!

Since I went to bed at a decent hour, I was able to sleep in, walk the dogs and still get our for my run before 8:30.  It was humid, but I felt alright. I was able to pick up the pace for the middle miles, but that was pretty much it.  Not a great run, but I got out there and at least ran my minimum of 6 miles.

I was back at the gym for the first time in about a week.  New treadmills were brought in since the last time I was there.  They are really nice to run on.  It took a little playing around to figure out how everything works.  My run went well as I finished in about 58 1/2 minutes.

I was back to the gym this morning.  Today is my last day of pre-planning at work.  Students are back tomorrow.  I had a nice run on the new treadmill.  I felt good finishing in about 58 1/2 minutes.

I was so tired this morning after not getting enough sleep last night.  We had friends that came into town and we didn't get to bed until late. My friend and I ran together for the first 6.4 miles, which was a combination of running and walking.  I then covered the final 4 miles on my own with a little help from my music.  The last few mile was interesting as I was dodging sorority girls on the sidewalk (sorority rush is wrapping up this weekend).  Only the last two that I ran past had the decency to move over for me.  I was very happy to get in the last few miles as my legs were tired for the first part.

After not getting enough sleep the night before, I made sure that I slept in this morning.  The down side was that it was hot and humid by the time I started running.  My run was not very good, although I did complete it.

I was so tired this morning, but I got myself up and went to the gym.  I kicked out my typical workout on the new treadmill that I use, finishing the first 6 miles in about 58 1/2 minutes. Once I got going, I felt alright and woke up.

I was back at the gym this morning and decided to take up just a bit more.  Rather than running the first two miles at a 10:00 min/ mile pace, I increased a level after the 1st mile.  I finished the first 6 miles in just over 58 minutes.

I was back at the gym this morning after a day off from running.  I didn't feel nearly as beat up as I did earlier in the week.  I was able to maintain a decent pace the entire time and completed the first 6 miles in just over 58 minutes.

I met my friend this morning for our Saturday run.  It was wet and cool, especially for this time of year.  We ran the first 7.1 together and I finished the last 3.3 on my own.  We lucked out as we didn't get rained on too much.  Happy Saturday!

After getting up to let the dogs out, I couldn't fall asleep, therefore, I decided to get up and go for my run.  I have noticed that my Sunday runs have been kind of blah and this one was right there with the others.  I had no issues getting out the door as my husband and dogs were asleep.  The weather was on the cool side and I was running alright, but it was just not a great run.  I did finish and it was still a good way to start the day.

It is Monday and feels like it.  I felt a bit beat this morning heading to the gym.  It took a bit of a mental push to get me out the door and to the gym.  I ran well once I was able to get going.

I was back at the gym this morning.  I felt a bit better today than I did yesterday. Getting out the door and on the treadmill didn't take as long as it did yesterday.  I ran well finishing the first 6 in a little over 58 minutes.

I ran in Richmond, VA this morning with my brother.  He is preparing to run his first half in less than a couple of months.  This was our first run together.  We ran downtown, not really sure as to where we were going.  Our original plan was for 6 miles, but we cut it back after going up and back more than a few streets, really having no idea as to where we were.  The weather was comfortable and the company was great.

It is Monday, which means I am running at the gym before heading off to work.  I didn't feel nearly as bad as I thought that I would.  I was tired, but able to get myself going fairly quickly.  I was able to run the first 6 in 58 mimutes and then ran until until the treadmill changed to the cool down at an hour.

I was back at the gym this morning for what I thought would be my regular six mile run.  Unfortunately, I realized that I had forgotten to prepare something for work and of course, had a meeting this morning.  Therefore, I needed to get there a bit earlier than planned to take care of this matter.  I felt fine for the duration of the run.

It was very humid this morning as I joined my group for our Saturday run.  I ran the first 7.5 with my friend, and then ran the final 2.6 on my own.  I was able to pick up the pace while I was on my own.
