Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I slept in about an hour later than usual and then went for my run.  I drove out to my normal Saturday location, but ran on my own with my music.  I wound up having a really good run, completing the distance in 1:42:33.  This was my best time for a long run since my miscarraige.  It was a great way to start the day.

After a good nights sleep, I was able to get out for my morning run.  It was cold, but not awful.  My pace was terrible, but I felt alright and was happy to at least hit my goal of 7 miles.

Today is the first of 3 days in a row that I have planned.  I felt better than expected and made myself go 6 miles.  I am so glad that I did as I finished under an hour and felt fairly strong.  Hopefully this trend will continue over the next couple of days.

I am happy to report that today's run at the gym went just as well as yesterday's did.  I was able to finish under an hour and feel pretty good.

Today was my 3rd day in a row at the gym.  I will not be able to run Saturday morning, so I chose to run my miles during the week.  It was really nice to feel pretty good for a 3rd straight day, as I once again finished my mileage in under an hour.

I was so happy to get a good night's sleep with daylight savings time beginning this weekend.  I ran this morning from my brother's house in upstate New York, where the temps were in the low 20's.  Fortunately, the sun was out and shined on the snow that covered everyones' lawns.  My run was a mix of running and walking as it is very hilly in this area.  It felt good to get out, therefore I didn't worry too much about time.  I have one more run to go in N.Y. before I head back home to Georgia.

It was kind of blah and misty out, but not too cold.  I was able to run a nice out and back course from my parents house this morning.  It isn't flat, but it is not that hilly either, which made for a good morning run.  I averaged a 10:13 pace, which worked for me.

It was nice to wake up in my own bed again.  My trip up north was nice, but it is always good to get home.  I got another 6-miler in this morning, although it wasn't nearly as good as yesterday's run.  It was cool and sunny, but I guess my legs didn't appreciated the hills near our home.  I will be taking at least the next couple days off due to a procedure I am having tomorrow.  My plan is to hit the pavement again on Friday, if I am allowed to.

WALKING MILES!  After having outpatient surgery on Wednesday, it was in my best interest to walk today.  This is first time exercising since I ran on Tuesday.  My friend and I walked for over two hours. We both attempted to use our watches, but we ran into technical difficulties.  We just walked all over town and it was really nice.  Mileage is approximate.  I also didn't get enough sellp as I woke up around 4 and never truly fell back to sleep.

WALKING MILES!  I was so sore this morning after yesterday's 8-mile walk.  I walked almost a mile with my husband and the dogs and then hit the pavement with just my music.  My shins hurt most of the time, which I am assuming stemmed from yesterday's walk.

I was back at they gym after being away for a bit.  This was my first run since outpatient surgery last week.  I ran for the first time in a week.  My original plan was to start back yesterday, but I was exhausted and felt that sleep was more important.  I felt okay, which made me feel good.

I was able to get back to the gym this morning and run again. I felt alright.  My original plan was to run 5, but I settled for 4 this time.  I would like to get back to more mileage next week.

After not being able to sleep, I decided to get up for my run,  My friend bailed on me due to the on/ off rain we were having this am.  I decided to go for it anyway.  I lucked out and ran the first 6 fairly dry. Unfortunately the skies opened and I was drenched.  Overall the run was good considering.  I actually had fun runnong in the rain. This was a nice way to start the weekend.

Due to the lousy wet weather, I decided to head to the gym.  It went fairly well as I amused myself by watching television.  I was able to get my mileage in in just under an hour, which I was ahout.

For the first time in I don't know how long, I ran a double.  I completed 6 miles at the gym this morning in just under an hour.  I then completed another 3, 1.8 with one dog and 1.2 with the other dog, averaging a 10:00 min/mile pace.  I had a training to go to today, which meant I was able to get home earlier than normal.  I also wasn't on my feet all day, which also helped.

I was finally back at the gym this morning.  My plan was to run yesterday morning, but sleep was needed instead.  I was tired as well today, but when in with a goal.  My plan was to run 6 today and then 9 on Saturday so that I hit 30 for the week.  I felt decent today and was able to pick up my pace throughout finishing in just under an hour.  Hopefully, Saturday will be even better.

After a lousy night's sleep, I am happy to report that I had a good run this morning.  Per my watch, I averaged 10:14 minute miles, which for a long run, it was a time that allowed me to feel content.  I felt pretty good throughout, outside of slightly achy knees and fatigue around the 6th mile.  This was a nice way to start the day.  I also hit my goal for the week of hitting 30 miles, the first time since my miscarraige.

I was exhausted and therefore, slept in.  After walking the dogs with my husband, I went out for my run.  I was able to hit my goal of 6 miles, although is was considerably slow compared to yesterday.  One positive was that I ran up this one steep hill that my wimpy self tends to walk.  As usual, I was happy when I was done.
