Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

It was a bit on the cool side and it actually became cooler while we were out there.  My friend was finally able to run again.  We ran 6 miles together, walked 1 1/2 miles and then I ran the final 2.7 miles on my own.  It was really nice to catch up with each other.  I was also thankful that I was easily able to start running again after the walk break.

I love it when we roll back the clocks and we get the extra hour of sleep.  I had a really nice run this morning averaging 10:20 per mile.  I haven't been running well on Sundays, so this was nice way to start the day.

I almost cut this run short a mile, but I am really glad that I chose to go the full distance.  I got into a decent groove and wanted to push through for 6 miles even though I a few things to do this morning.  Everything worked out.

I had a really nice run this morning.  The temperature was in the mid 30's when we started.  I ran with my group, minus my running buddy who was out of town.  My group runs faster than I do, therefore they pushed me quite a bit.  I always feel bad when I run with them, because I know I am holding someone back, but I must admit the company is nice.  I did bring my music for when they were ready to push forward, which was fine with me.  I finished the first 10 miles in under 1:39:00, which I was very happy about.  That means I was able to push myself on my own as well as with the others.  Happy Saturday!

I was able to sleep in later this morning due to a professional learning meeting that I had to go to today.  This allowed me to run partly in my neighborhood, but then venture out as the sun came up.  It was a good morning for a run.

I ran outside this morning in my neighborhood.  I wanted to get 6 miles in and still get to work on the early side.  I felt pretty good although my time wasn't good.  My neighborhood is hilly, which is part of the reason, although I did feel fairly strong running the hills.

I was finally back at the gym after running from home earlier in the week.  It went fairly well, outside of the fact that the gym was really cold.  If it is cold outside, 25 degrees, it is cold inside the gym.

I ran the first six miles with my running buddy.  It was great catching up, but the run was slow.  I ran the final four on my own, but ran on campus as I was following some running buddies.  I was happy that I was able to finish stronger than I started.  Happy Saturday!

I wasn' t really pumped up to run today.  It was so blah outside.  Nevertheless, I got myself out there and had a decent day.  I started off slow, but was able to pick up the pace.  I averaged about 10:30 per mile.  Not too bad for a Sunday.

I wound up cutting this run short as I felt as though I had a lot to do and not enough time to do it.  I normally try to complete my goal, but the work was stressing me out on top of the fact that I needed to use the restroom as I was completing mile 5.

It was a bit milder out this morning than I had anticipated, which was fine.  My first 6.3 miles were a tad slow with my running buddy.  Thankfully, I was able to pick up the pace for the final 3.7 as I ran on campus for the final gameday run of the season. Happy Saturday!

It was cold this morning as I slept in and walked the dogs with my husband prior to running.  I was able to keep a fairly steady, yet somewhat slow pace as I ran near our home. The air was cold, which was kind of nice.  I had to push myself out the door and am glad that I did.

I was able to sleep in and run outside as I was able to take advantage of my first day off.  It was cold outside, but sunny.  I decided to go soon after waking up as I wanted to get it done and still have time to bake and enjoy lunch with friends.  I felt good and pushed myself up those hills.

I love being on vacation.  After a nasty day outside yesterday, I was able to hit the streets this morning for my run (I essentially slept through the rain.) It was still cold and now windy, but at least the rain stopped.  I felt decent, although I didn't feel as though I was running that hard either.  I was just happy to get out the door.

Happy Thanksgiving!  It was cold this morning with temperatures hovering in the upper 20's.  Thankfully, I know how to dress for this type of weather and it was not windy.  After the first couple of miles, outside of having to blow my nose, the cold didn't bother me. My run wasn't great as my mind was elsewhere and not clearing as I always hope that it does during a run.  Anyway, at least I got it in,

It was a cold as I went out for my morning run.  I met my running buddy as we normally do on Saturday.  I ran just over 7 miles with her and then ran the final 3 on my own.  I made sure to pick up the pace once I was running solo.  Happy Saturday!
