Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I love falling back and getting that extra hour of sleep.  After walking my dogs, I went for my run.  My goal was at least 7 miles, but I was hoping for 8. Thankfully, even though the miles were slow, I was able to complete my goal without any issues.  The weather was mild with a chance of rain, but I was fortunate and stayed dry.

I went to the gym this morning, but chose to avoid SportsCenter as all of my teams had a bad weekend.  Law & Order kept my mind off of the miles.  I didn't take up the pace as much as I normally do as I feel as though I am still getting back to my normal schedule.  I felt good the whole time, which made for a nice way to start the day.

I went to the gym this morning for my run.  It was the gym or running in the rain.  I was a bit tired, but I felt alright.  I would have preferred to run 8 miles, but had to cut a mile off so that I could print some stuff for work.

I went back to the gym for my run this morning.  I felt alright, tuning out to Law & Order for most of the first hour.  I had to cut back a mile as I had a meeting this morning.

I was able to run outside this morning from our home.  The temperatures were in the upper 30's, which meant the running tights, hat, gloves and tissues were back out for the season.  Once I warmed up, I felt good. My average pace was 10:31/ mile, which was fine with me.

Since I needed to get to work a bit early this morning, I chose to run from home.  It was a tad slow, but I was able to start a bit earlier than I would have if I had gone to the gym and I got my mileage in.

My  plan to run at the gym was changed to running outside in the rain.  This change of events was due to doggie problems.   I knew I wasn't going to be able to get 8 in this morning, but I did not want to go less than 6, therefore, running outside was my only option.  It was slow, but alright.

I met with my running buddy for our last game day run of the season.  Unfortunately, I left my watch at home, which meant we had to stick with a route where we knew our mileage.  Had may be a strong word to use, but it bothers me not to know how far I have run.  The first six with my friend were quite slow, but the conversation was really good. When she was done, I was able to pick up the pace and complete my final four miles.

After sleeping in and walking my dogs with my husband, I went out for my run.  It was slow, but I just tried to enjoy the run and the sun hitting my face.  It was in the mid40's, but I was dressed appropriately, which made the run comfortable.

Even though I had the day off, I managed to schedule my dentist appointment for this morning.  To get a run and breakfast in first, I had to get up early.  It was nice and cool out, but I had some technical problems as no matter what song I played on my iPod, it kept repeating.  I stopped three times to fix it, but to no avail.  By time number 4, I chose to take it off and drop it off at home as I was close by.  From there, I just continued on and got my distance in as planned.

I went for a nice run after walking my dogs this morning. It was cool, but not too cold.  I was also able to get my iPod straightented out after Monday's debacle.

WALKING MILES.  I wanted to get moving this morning before the cooking began, therefore I decided to enjoy the weather and go for a walk, after we both walked our dogs.  The weather was probably in the upper 40's/ low 50's.  My plan was to go 4 miles, but wound up completing 5.  It was a nice way to start Thangsiving Day.

I got myself up and out of the house by 6:30 am so that I could get my dog to the vet later on in the morning.  Since it was early and dark, I stuck to our neighborhood for the first 2+ miles and then ventured out.  My time was slow, but I felt good out there.  I also enjoyed my music along the way.
