Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I got myself up early this morning for my 10-mile run.  I am glad that I did as it was humid, but the clouds were covering the sun for the most part.  I brought my music to keep me company

I got up this morning to let one of my dogs out and chose to stay up and go for my run to enjoy the air, which was a tad cool.  The temperature was just below 70 degrees, which these days does not happen very often.  I left the music at home and just ran to my thoughts.  It felt good to be out there this morning.

I ran with my running buddy for the first time in over a month. It was so nice catching up. We ran the first 6.25 together, then I finished the last 3 3/4 on my own. I chose to run part of the Ath Half course, as I will he running the race again later this year.

I slept in, waking up to my dogs kisses. I decided to stay up and get my run in before my husband and other dog awoke. I brought my music, but thought about work most of the time.

After sleeping in aka no alarm, I was able to get out the door before my husband and dogs got up.  It felt good to get the run done and still feel as though I had the entire day ahead of me.

I was able to get to the gym just as it was opening.  I stretched in the lot and got right on the treadmill.  It felt good to start the day with that kind of run.

After sleeping and walking the dogs with my husband, I finally got out for my run.  It wasn't pretty as my legs were not feeling very fluid. After about 3 + miles, I finally got into a decent groove.

I decided to run outside instead of the gym ass the temperature was in the 60's.  It felt so good to feel the cool air.  My time wasn't good, but I did feel good out there.

I had an alright run this morning as I was up as the sun was rising. My legs felt fine, but my mind just wasn't relaxed as it should have been.  I did have my music to keep me company.

I actually had a nice, long nights sleep last evening.  After getting up and walking the dogs, I went our for my run.  I left the music due to a chance of rain, which was smart as I was rained on for at least half my run.  I felt pretty good after the first couple of miles and finished with an average pace of 10:28/ mile.

I went to the gym to get my run in this morning.  It took me about 3 miles to get in a decent groove, but from there I was good to go.  For the past month or so, when I am at the gym, I start at a 10:20 pace, increasing the pace each mile.  I then increase every .2 of a mile during the 8th mile.
