I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

This run was definitely better than the one yesterday.  I went to the gym so that I didn't have to run in the dark.  My body felt a bit more alive on the treadmill.  I picked up the pace a bit earlier this time as I am slowly getting back to where I was before the marathon.

This morning was. colder than I anticipated.  I wore shorts and didn't feel warm until we were almost done.  My hands even hurt with gloves on until mile 9.  Overall the run went well, although a bit slow.  Once again, it was more about talking with friends than about a particular pace, especially now that I am not officially training for anything.

Once again, by the time I got outside to run, I wasn't as motivated.  It was cold and blah outside.  I brought my music with me today, which was nice, although it did sprinkle a little bit (which I was not expecting).  It was one of those runs that wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. My plan was to get 6 miles in, therefore, I accomplished my goal.

I ran at the gym this morning on not a whole lot of sleep, but I didn't feel bad.  The only thing that I did notice is that my run felt like it just dragged (same feeling yesterday as well).  I went back to increasing the pace one level after I finished the first mile and then increased the pace during mile 6 every 1/4 of a mile.

I finished my workout with 6 sets of abdominal work.

I told myself last night that I would either run this afternoon, if everything fell into place, or take the day off.  Fortunately, everything worked out, which included getting home at a good time, feeling decent and it not pouring outside.  Outside of one of my dogs not being too thrilled with me, everything went fine.  My time was actually good as well as I finished in 1:01:02.  With the way I have been running outside, I was very pleased.  Now, I get to sleep in tomorrow as well!

After taking Wednesday off for a much needed rest day, I decided to run Thursday morning before my sub job.  It wasn't bad.  I was able to increase my pace after each mile.

I completed 6 sets of abdominal work afterwards.

It was another cold run this morning.  I made sure to wear the running tights, but my hands were still frigid, even with gloves on.  When the sun came up, that seemed to help a bit, but the temperatures remained in the upper 30's during the duration of our run.  It was once again a nice chance to run and talk with friends.  We chose to walk mile 11, as our goal was to hit 10 miles.

This was one of those mornings where I was able to just get up and get out the door.  It was cold out, winter has definitely arrived, at least in the morning.  It was just me, the pavement and my music.  I felt pretty good and once again am keeping the makers of Kleenex in  business.  I was happy to get 7 miles in.

I was a little tired this morning, but not too bad.  I went to the gym and was very happy to see that SportsCenter was on.  It is so nice to watch when your team wins.  I was able to take the pace up like I was doing prior to the marathon, finishing the last 1/4 of a mile at a 8:57 pace.

I told myself this morning that I would run this afternoon if I was up to it.  Fortunately, after not feeling so hot earlier in the day, I felt much better this afternoon.  I was able to leave my sub job on time and get my run in before the sun went down.  The weather was nice and mild, cooling off as the sun dropped.  I also ran well, finishing in 59:33.  This may sound slow to anyone reading this, but I was very happy with the time, especially after being on my feet most of the day.  My runs outside tend to be slow, which is why I am happy with the outcome.  Now, I can sleep in again tomorrow morning.

I had a hard time sleeping last night, so I decided to get up earlier than I anticipated and head to the gym (I had the opportunity to sleep in and unfortunately, couldn't take advantage of it).  I felt good during my run, increasing my pace every mile after the first.

I completed my workout with six sets of abdominal work.

Today was another Saturday long run with friends.  I ran the first 5 miles with my regular running partner/ friend (she then had to leave) and then ran the last 6 with another woman that runs with our group.  It was cool out, but not freezing.  Once again, it was a nice way to start the weekend.

I was fortunate to have another nice Sunday run.  I didn't get out the door until after 9:30 since we slept in and then walked the dogs.  I brought my music with me and just tried to enjoy myself.  I finished in 1:13+, which I was happy with.

I needed to be up by 7, but arose at 6:30.  My brain needs to relax.  I took advantage of the time and went to the gym for my run.  I was able to complete the distance in about 59 minutes, which I was happy about.  As usual, I took up the pace every mile and then every 1/4 of a mile during mile 6, finishing at an 8:57 pace.

Even though I was able to sleep in this morning, my brain was ready to get up.  I was able to get out the door by 7:00am and enjoy watching the sun come up.  It was cool out, but not freezing.  I was able to finish in under an hour and two minutes, which I was happy about.

After getting a full night's sleep, I finally stepped outside for my morning run.  For the first day of winter, it was very mild and misty.  I was not moving well for the first 3 miles as the hills looked like mountains and my brain was in a not so positive place.  Finally, during mile 4, I was able to get into a groove and get moving.

After a lousy nights sleep, I was happy to have a good run today.  I met with my group today as we ran our own version of a jingle bell run.  It was nice.  We all ran the first mile together, and then went out for whatever length we were planning on doing.  I ran with friends for the first 6.25 miles and then finished the rest on my own since.  I was determined to get 10 miles in and was happy to complete it.  It was cold out, but sunny, which made for a nice morning.

It was so nice to get up and run this morning.  I was able to get out of the house  this morning by around 8:30.  It was cold, but I had my music and just tried to enjoy the run.  I maintained about a 10:29 pace for the last few miles, which I was happy about.

My husband and I slept in and then went to the gym.  This run felt very slow for the first 3 miles, but fortunately did pick up.  It may have also felt faster since I increase the pace at every mile.

I thought that I was going to be able to get out of the house sooner than I did, but c'est la vie!  My husband and I went to the gym where I was able to get 6 miles in on the treadmill.  I started a tad faster than normal (but that is not saying much).  I finished at the same pace that I always do.  I felt fine.

I went to the gym this morning with my husband, but did not run.  I pumped up with him.  My guess is that I may regret it in the morning as he had me weight train my legs.  We will soon find out how I feel.

After a lousy nights' sleep, I was actually happy to get up. I met a couple members of my group to get in 2-3 extra miles before the rest showed up.  I am glad that I did, because they wound up running less miles than I anticipated.  I got a total of 11 miles in, which I was happy about.  Once again, I love starting the weekend with a nice, long run.
