Running Accomplishments:

I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

After a decent night's sleep, I was ready to get up around 7:00am and go for a run.  It was cold, but sunny out.  I listened to some music and just tried to clear my head.  When all was said and done, I finished averaging a 10:29 pace.  Outside of my nose running the entire time, I felt fine.

I was able to sleep in a tad later than normal for a running day.  I went over to the gym and ran 6 miles in just under 59 minutes.  Outside of a slight pain that I felt on the top of my knee, I felt fine.  As of right now, I am assuming that it is nothing to worry about.  After my run, I completed 6 sets of abdominal work.

I was back at the gym this morning after a day off from running yesterday.  I was a bit tired, but felt alright.  I think that I am still running on adrenaline after starting my new teaching gig the other day.

I was back at the gym this morning.  I am finally starting to feel the fatigue from working a lot and not getting enough sleep.  Fortunately, it did not affect my run as it went very well this morning.  I felt good and kept my usual pace.

I was very tired this morning after completing my first week of work.  We took it easy for the most part.  I ran the first 8 1/4 miles with my friend and then completed the last 1 3/4 on my own.

It was so nice to get a full night's sleep.  I worked when I first got up and then went for a run when I was done.  I felt pretty good out there and just tried to relax and listen to my music.  My average pace was a 10:26 per mile.

Even with the lack of sleep, I had a really good run this morning at the gym.  I am assuming that part of it was because I thoroughly enjoyed watching SportsCenter during the duration.  I finished in under 59 minutes.  It was a good run.

I was able to get an extra hour of sleep more than I have been getting on the mornings that I run before work.  I definitely felt a bit stronger.  I ran a bit faster than normal and finished under 59 minutes.

It was cold this morning as temperatures were in the mid-20's when we started.  My friend that I usually run with had to back out at the last minute, therefore, I ran with the faster people.  Of course, this pushed me, which was a good thing.  I ran the first 5 1/2 miles with them and then turned around as they were going longer.  I was happy that I was able to maintain about a 9:30 pace once I was on my own.  I finished the 11 miles in 1:47:+, which I was very happy about.  This was a great way to start the weekend.

After sleeping in and walking the dogs with my husband, I was finally able to get out on my run.  It was cold, but not nearly as bad as yesterday.  I put on my music and went for it.  I ran my typical route to start, but then changed it up a bit.  It worked out well as I wound up running 8 miles, one more that I had planned.  My average pace was just over 10:30 minute miles.  All is good!

With today being MLK day, I was able to sleep in and then go out for my run.  It was cold and blah out, but I felt good.  I left my music at home and just let my brain do its thing.  I finished in under 1:02 for the first 6 miles, which I was happy about.

It was a mild morning, with temperatures in the low 50's.  I ran the first 6 miles with my friend and then ran the last four on my run.  I thought that I would make it through without being rained on, but I was hit with it during my last mile.  Fortunately, I didn't wait to run later on in the day as the weather became worse.

It was cold this morning.  Our run was slow as my friend was dealing with the death of a friend.  This was a workout that was more about friendship than getting a great run.  The good thing was that we did talk a lot and we ran.

I ran the second of my two courses that I run from home.  I purposely ran it since it has a lot of hills.  I am scheduled to run a hilly 5k next weekend and felt that I needed to get the work in. I averaged 10:30 minute miles throughout.

I ran at the gym as I do on most Monday mornings.  I felt pretty decent considering the lack of sleep that I had.  I finished in 58:40, which I was happy about.
