I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances.  My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009.  I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day.  I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.

Next Half Marathon:  Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!

Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th.  Completed: Time of 4:16:58
(better than last year)

Long-Term Running Goals:

It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still  have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time.

Personal:

I am married, no kids, two dogs.  I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

I was fortunate to have another nice Sunday run.  I didn't get out the door until after 9:30 since we slept in and then walked the dogs.  I brought my music with me and just tried to enjoy myself.  I finished in 1:13+, which I was happy with.

I needed to be up by 7, but arose at 6:30.  My brain needs to relax.  I took advantage of the time and went to the gym for my run.  I was able to complete the distance in about 59 minutes, which I was happy about.  As usual, I took up the pace every mile and then every 1/4 of a mile during mile 6, finishing at an 8:57 pace.

Even though I was able to sleep in this morning, my brain was ready to get up.  I was able to get out the door by 7:00am and enjoy watching the sun come up.  It was cool out, but not freezing.  I was able to finish in under an hour and two minutes, which I was happy about.

After getting a full night's sleep, I finally stepped outside for my morning run.  For the first day of winter, it was very mild and misty.  I was not moving well for the first 3 miles as the hills looked like mountains and my brain was in a not so positive place.  Finally, during mile 4, I was able to get into a groove and get moving.

After a lousy nights sleep, I was happy to have a good run today.  I met with my group today as we ran our own version of a jingle bell run.  It was nice.  We all ran the first mile together, and then went out for whatever length we were planning on doing.  I ran with friends for the first 6.25 miles and then finished the rest on my own since.  I was determined to get 10 miles in and was happy to complete it.  It was cold out, but sunny, which made for a nice morning.
