| Location: Athens,GA,USA Member Since: Apr 26, 2009 Gender: Female Goal Type: Boston Qualifier Running Accomplishments: I have completed 13 marathons, 13 half marathons and a variety of shorter distances. My PR in the marathon is now 4:11:44, December 2009. I finished my last half on October 30, 2010 and set a new PR by 48 seconds with a time of 1:53:48. Next race: Athens Half Marathon- Sunday, October 21st. Short-Term Running Goals: I would love to improve my times without stressing too much on race day. I would like to become a fitter and stronger runner.
Next Half Marathon: Silver Comet Half Marathon on Saturday, October 30th. Completed: Time of 1:53:48 PR!
Next Marathon: Soldier Marathon in Columbus, GA on Saturday, November 12th. Completed: Time of 4:16:58 (better than last year) Long-Term Running Goals: It would be pretty awesome to qualify for Boston, and I am now closer than I was before, but I still have to knock just over 25 minutes off my time. Personal: I am married, no kids, two dogs. I am a schoolteacher who moved in June 2009 from Florida to Georgia.

| I was back at the gym after a long drought from being there. It was scheduled to be 99 degrees outside, so my husband and I thought it would be best if I went to the gym. They still do not have the television in the treadmills working so I tried something new by using the courses programmed into them. It was a different way to go about it. I was able to learn a bit about Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand as well as run through forests in Reinstagg, Germany. It also threw in some unexpected hills, which wasn't bad.

| I was able to get up at a decent hour and walk my dogs before heading out for my run. I am glad that I got up a bit early as it was quite humid outside. My legs were a bit tired from yesterday's workout, but I brought my music to help keep me going.

| With co-workers of my husband coming by the house this morning, I thought that it would be best if I was able to complete my run, shower and get dressed prior to thier arrival. After walking the dogs, I decided to run near home. It was at least 10-15 degrees cooler today than it was the past two mornings. I brought my music along once again to keep me company. I felt fine although my time was nothing special.

| Well, this was my last morning to sleep in before I go back to work, therefore I took advantage of it. When I finally got up, I walked the dogs and went for my run. I left the music at home due to the chance of rain. I didn't feel bad, but my legs felt heavy this morning. It was not one of my stronger days, but I did hit my goal of 6 miles.

| My running buddy and I got together for our weekly "therapy" session. It was slow, but nice catching up. She was able to run all 10 miles with me. Once we hit 10, we walked the rest.
